Two Cal U hockey teams are headed to the American
Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournaments.
- The women’s hockey team will compete in the ACHA
Division II National Tournament, beginning March 13 at the University Ice Arena
Gold in Newark, Del. The tourney runs through March 16.
The Cal U women (18-4-0-3 overall) are making their third consecutive appearance in the ACHA Division II Nationals. The Vulcans won their first-ever CHE championship with victories over West Chester (2-0) and Penn State (2-1) in York on the weekend of Feb. 21-22.
- The CHE
men’s team (21-2 overall) will compete in the ACHA Division III National
Tournament at the Saveology.com Iceplex in Coral Spring, Fla. Cal U will begin
the tournament by playing Ole Miss on March 11. The tourney runs through March
15.
This season marks the eighth time in 10 years that the Vulcans will compete at the ACHA Division III Nationals. Cal U won the ACHA national title in 2008 and reached the semifinals in 2011 and 2012.
