Freshman runner Julius Rivera will compete in the 200-meter dash at the International Association Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Junior Outdoor Championships beginning July 24, in Eugene, Oregon.
Rivera qualified for this event after posting a time of 21.43 seconds at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Junior Championships, which took place earlier this month in Morelia, Mexico.
All-American freshman Julie Friend will serve as an alternate in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the IAAF World Junior Outdoor Championships following a third-place showing earlier this month at USATF Junior Outdoor Championships.
