Start your Homecoming weekend with a night of memorable entertainment starring some of Cal U’s most talented students, faculty alumni and staff.

Proceeds from Our Showcase of Stars benefit the Student Scholarship Fund for Academics, Arts and Athletics.

Admission is free for students with a valid CalCard, $10 for alumni and others. 

Talent lineup

Headliner for Our Showcase of Stars is the Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers, an Appalachian bluegrass quartet with deep roots in southwestern Pennsylvania. Well-known on the East Coast’s Americana music circuit, the band recently returned from a national tour. Hear the Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers

Other featured performers are: 

• Hear Tonight, an alternative rock band composed of Cal U students. The band has performed at Pittsburgh’s Hard Rock Café and other regional venues. Listen to Hear Tonight

• A Phi A Step, high-energy steppers from Cal U’s Alpha Phi Alpha chapter. Learn more about step dancing

• Dominic Carrola, a pianist whose original musical premieres this spring in Steele Hall. Hear original music by Dominic Carrola

• The Cal U Singers with special guest star Geraldine M. Jones, our interim University President, performing a Motown classic.

Also appearing are a cappella groups Vulcanize, Acapella Stella and Isolated Incident; the Young and Gifted Gospel Choir; the Cal U Marching Band; performers from the Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy and the Department of Theatre and Dance; Cal U’s national champion athletes and cheerleaders; and several faculty artists.
