“Self Actualization:  A Concert of Dance” A row of girls wearing black performing.
8 p.m. April 21-23
Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre

Psychology and movement intersect when the Department of Music and Theatre presents “Self Actualization:  A Concert of Dance” at 8 p.m. April 21-23 in Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre.

Choreographers delve into psychologist Abraham Maslow's theory that individuals are motivated by a “hierarchy of needs” on their journeys to self-actualization.

Each piece in this concert explores the individual struggle as one seeks to reach his or her full potential. Many of the dances explore mature themes that are best viewed with adult supervision.
