Keystone Hall, Room 205

Cal U alumnus Rontez Miles, a safety for the New York Jets, returns to campus April 4 to discuss his path to the National Football League.

A former PSAC-West Defensive Player of the Year and a multiple first-team All-American selection, Miles played for the Vulcan football squad from 2009-2012.

He is a native of western Pennsylvania. A three-year letterman at Woodland Hills High School, he briefly attended Kent State University before coming to Cal U. He graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a minor in justice studies.

Miles signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2013, and he played with the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster. He sustained a serious leg injury in practice in 2014, underwent life-saving surgery, and returned from injured reserve the following year.

In 2016 he made 57 tackles while playing in 16 games for the Jets.
